Purpose

Strategic Housing Investment Plans (SHIP) and Strategic Local Programmes are part of the Local Housing Strategy (LHS) process. They are the statements of affordable housing investment priorities in each local authority area which will guide the application of Scottish Government and other funding. In line with Scottish Government guidance issued in June 2024, all local authorities are required to submit a SHIP to Scottish Government every year.

In relation to reference in report to a proposed informal session to consider the New Scots’ Integration Strategy, it was agreed that a presentation on the Resettlement Scheme scheduled for 13 February 2025 meeting, would be scheduled for an earlier time that day, prior to the Communities Committee, and the invite would be extended to all Members of the Council.
