Purpose

To make the Area Committee aware of the new
Historic Environment Team Strategy 2025-2028 and to comment on and
agree the content and areas of work proposed over the Strategy
period.

Content

The Committee provided the following
comments:
 
a)   
The report was very much welcomed,
b)   
It would be helpful to have a greater understanding around the
potential use of digital technology,
c)   
It would be more beneficial for Amenity Orders to be processed
through the Historic Environment Team rather than the Planning
Enforcement Team,
d)   
It might be useful to reconsider how the Service can link into
schools, in order to promote the history of the local area, and
e)   
It was disappointing that there was not yet an agreement between
the surrounding Local Authorities and the Cairngorm National Park
Authority, but it was understood that work had been ongoing in
relation to this.
