Purpose

To make Area Committee aware of the new
Historic Environment Team Strategy 2025-2028. The committee are
being asked to provide comment on the content and areas of work
proposed over the Strategy period. Comments provided by all six
Area Committees will be incorporated into the final document prior
to the report being presented to Infrastructure Services Committee
(ISC) for final approval.

Content

To provide the following
comments on the Historic Environment Team Strategy
2025-2028:
 
1.    Suggested Visit Cairngorms as a source
of data on visitor motivation as it was considered that
international visitors to the area would rank history and culture
very highly.
2.    With reference to work at Dumfries
House on teaching traditional skills, suggested a conversation with
Balmoral to explore opportunities.
3.    Encouraged opportunities to engage
with local schools.
