Committee agreed to provide the following
comment to Communities Committee:
 

1.      Committee requests further
information on each individual library proposal so that a more
comprehensive decision can be taken.

2.      Committee has concerns that
the timeline for proposals to be finalised at the next Communities
Committee meeting is unrealistic.

3.      Committee requests that they
are kept informed on considerations as
         
plans are developed for Cairnbulg, Macduff and Rosehearty Libraries
          in
order to provide local input.

4.      Committee recommends that the
Banff and Buchan library buildings are
not closed until a full and comprehensive investigation into the
exact provision is determined and all options explored.

5.      Committee requests that
suitable training is provided to all new and
         
existing volunteers.

6.      Committee requests fully
comprehensive IIAs incorporating an impact
appraisal on the
options for each library in the Banff and Buchan Area being
considered for building closure.
7.      Committee
noted that we need to continue to improve our library service
in terms of value
and service.

8.      Committee feels unable to
acknowledge proposals for delivery of library

 services as these are not
finalised.

9.      Committee requests that the
Communities Committee remove from consideration the closure and
alterations to the libraries at Cairnbulg, Macduff and Rosehearty
and not make a final decision until full and accurate information
is available.
