Purpose

This report asks the committee to approve the
commencement of the statutory
procedures required to implement the national 20mph strategy in
Garioch.

Content

The Committee agreed:-
 
1.    the recommendations as per the report;
and
 
2.    to forward the following comments to
the Service for further consideration/action:-
 
a)       a process should be
put in place in the Areas to compile a list of potential speed
limit changes for consideration in addition to the proposals within
the report;
 
b)       request that
officers check the colour coding of the road between the two
roundabouts and Morrisons (linking to the A96) to ensure that the
relevant speed limits are in place right up to the A96;
 
c)       request that
Officers check the situation regarding the 20mph speed limit
provision at Keithhall; and
 
d)       request that, as
part of the process, Officers record comments provided by the
public that fall outwith the current scope of the current
consultation so these can be considered against speed limit
criteria in due course.
