Purpose

This application seeks full planning
permission for the erection of a dwellinghouse in a greenfield site
associated with an existing riding and livery stables. The proposal
has been recommended for refusal and referred by Local Member for
further discussion.

Content

Follwing a vote (4:3) agreed to
grant for for the following reasons:
"The proposal does not comply
with the Development Plan but the business on site is well
established and has operated successfully with an on site presence
for nearly 20 years bringing social and economic benefits.
 The caravan on site is no longer habitable and a replacement
is not considered a viable long term solution, where a house on
site would support the continued viable operation of an established
rural business and continue to deliver social and economic
benefits, and is worthy of departing from Policy 17 Rural homes of
National Planning Framework 4 and Policy R2 Development proposals
Elsewhere in the Countryside of the Aberdeenshire Local Development
Plan 2023.
