Purpose

To provide an update on the progress of
actions in the Banff and Buchan Community Plan 2020-2025 and update
on ongoing engagement and preparations for place plans in Banff and
Buchan

Content

The Committee is agreed to provide the
following comments to the Banff and Buchan Local Community Planning
Group:
 
·        
The Committee gave thanks to the Team for the valuable work they
have carried out within our communities over the past five years,
they appreciate their input and dedication. 

·        
Request that future plans specifically consider how they can
address the mental health needs of Veterans, recognising that this
is becoming increasingly important given the ageing
demographic.

·        
Request that future plans consider the impact of the current
financial crisis on businesses, including their capacity to retain
staff whilst addressing poverty and inequalities and engage with
Economic Development to support the local economy.

·        
Request additional support and engagement between Dial a Bus and
the Public Transport Unit to ensure they have a viable action
plan for the
future. 

 
·        
Request for the Area Manager to provide an update on the
sustainability of the Just Ask Project.
 
·        
Request that Community Resilience is strongly embedded within the
Place Plan in recognition of the climatic challenges and health and
wellbeing impacts we are likely to face in the future.  Groups
need to be coordinated on resilience plans to achieve the maximum
benefit for our communities.  The Committee requested a
briefing note from the Area Manager on Community Resilience Plans
across the Banff & Buchan area.

Consider how the future plan can support Grow Your Own initiatives,
allotments and Community Gardens. 

 
·        
Request a briefing note on the Food Security and Poverty event that
was held recently focusing on the needs of West Banff &
Buchan. 
 
·        
To provide an update on the enhanced Sheltered Housing
Model.
