The Committee approved the recommendations in
the report and provided the following comments to Infrastructure
Services Committee:
a)
Interpretation Boards are very important to inform visitors to the
history and context of the assets they are visiting,
b)
Aerial drone footage has been recorded in the Inverkeithny and
Methlick areas which captures trees that are no longer there,
should the Service wish these for posterity,
c)
The works to be carried out in the Formartine area were very much
welcomed,
d)
It would be helpful for local members to be kept informed of the
completion of any local works,
e)
Noting that compensation had been granted for the damage to the
Merkat Cross, it was highlighted that in due course the Service may
need to consider removing any remaining finials due to their
delicate condition, and
f)
The external funding being drawn in was welcomed.
