Agreed to provide the following comments to
the Communities Committee on the Strategic Housing Investment Plan
2024-2029:
1.Would like to see
Braemar on the list of need - highlighted the high cost of housing
in Braemar and difficulty for local people to get housing.
2.Suggested that local
businesses should be a key consultee for establishing housing
need.
3.Queried whether work to
identify accessible housing requirements through the Housing Need
and Demand Assessment would feed into building/planning/developer
obligation requirements.
4.Highlighted housing
pressures in smaller communities which were not reflected in the
priority areas.
5.Raised concerns about
the absence of Council house building in the Deeside Corridor and
would like to see the Council looking more at this area.
6.Queried why empty homes
remained a problem, what the Council could do, and the message
communicated to empty home owners.
7.Need to look carefully
at housing stock including empty homes; as well as allocations
policy and key workers.
