The Committee provided the following comments
to the Aberdeenshire Licensing Board in relation to the draft
Statement of Licensing Policy:
(a)
It would be helpful to have more detail in relation to the Fyvie
area (noting there is no overprovision as it does not meet the
criteria, but shows an elevated level of alcohol related harm to a
lesser degree), and whether this relates to home-based
businesses,
(b)
The development of the policy and guidelines was based on Community
Planning Principles. It would be
helpful if the Board could now take cognisance of the Place
Strategy, and
(c)
The work on localities has been really interesting, to see the
information at a ward level is really important.
The Committee provided the following comments
to the Aberdeenshire Licensing Board and Business Services
Committee in relation to the feasibility of reinstating the
Aberdeenshire Licensing Forum:
(a)
It has been some time since this group met, there may be new people
available to get involved,
(b)
As well as the industry group, there could be encouragement for
distillery owners and others involved in the licenced trade to
become involved, and
(c)
The timings of the meetings should be considered, to ensure that
those in the industry can be involved.
