The Banff and Buchan Area Committee of Aberdeenshire Council agreed to the Public Sector Equality Duty on 18 August 2026. Members were reminded of their legal duty under section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 to have due regard to the need to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity, and foster good relations between those with and without protected characteristics. The committee was directed to consider Integrated Impact Assessments where provided in reports.
