Agreed to recommend to Business Services
Committee support of the draft Donations Policy subject to the
following (1) in having noted that the Checklist for Assessment of
Donations asks ‘What specific service/activity
does the donor wish the money to be allocated to’, that
donors be made aware that there are also Common Good Funds
throughout Aberdeenshire, and (2) that donations made to a
‘Visitors Box’ at a Museum, for example, continue to go
to the attraction where the donation is made and that School Parent
Councils be permitted to continue with their fundraising efforts
with no need to redirect funds raised
