To provide the following comments to Business
Services Committee:
(1)      There was concern about
temperature monitoring in non-remote-controlled buildings,
specifically schools.
(2)      References to pool
temperature to be clarified as to whether these related to pool or
pool hall temperatures.
(3)      In relation to the
Integrated Impact Assessment, it was considered that an equalities
assessment should be undertaken as the policy had the potential to
differentially impact on people with protected characteristics,
although those impacts were mitigated within the policy. The policy
was also considered to be of strategic importance to the
Council.
(4)      Would support engagement
with Sustainability Champions and Council-wide to ensure that
everyone sees saving energy as their responsibility.
(5)      Would support a campaign
to drive behavioural change.
(6)      Highlighted insurance
implications in relation to portable heaters.
(7)      Suggested further
explanation in the covering report on why decarbonisation of
infrastructure was not addressed in the policy.
