Committee agreed to:-
 

1.       note
the Tackling Poverty and Inequalities Annual Reports and
acknowledge the work done;

2.      
provide the following comments regarding local concerns to the
Tackling Poverty and Inequalities Strategic Partnership:-

a)       The
community element for transport is missing from the report;

b)       The
difference between urban and rural poverty should be acknowledged;

c)       More
support and linking up of services related to mental health is
required; and

d)      
Officers should look to support schools that don’t qualify
for Pupil Equity Fund funding.

3.      
provide the following comments on the Information and Advice
Framework to the Communities Committee:-

a)       There
needs to be less duplication;

b)       An
Independent body should be used to provide the advice;

c)      
Consideration should be given to link in with RSLs;

d)      
Options A or C would be most appropriate;

e)      
Officers should consider a fourth option which would clearly
outline a new tender for a new contract as Option A reads as if the
contract will be allocated to the existing consortium;
and     

f)       
It is important that people know who to turn to and how to make
contact.
