A report by the Director of Business Services
was circulated advising Members
1. The Council Plan 2022-27 identifies the
development of a Place Strategy as a key strategic outcome.
Committee is recommended to consider and comment on the draft Place
Policy and Strategy. Comments and feedback from all Area Committees
will be collated and included when the Place Policy and Strategy
are presented to Full Council for approval on 27 June 2024.
1.1 The Place Policy and Strategy are council
documents but will be presented for
endorsement by the Community Planning
Partnership Board on 5 June 2024.
1.2 The approach represents a key driver to
change as the Council moves from a predominantly service provider
based approach to one that is adaptable, collaborative and
creative, driven by strong local democratic mandates that put
people and communities at the heart of change.
 
1.22 The Committee is recommended to:
1.2.1 Consider and comment on the Draft Place
Policy and Strategy
attached to this report;
1.2.2 Note that the Draft Place Policy and
Strategy will be considered by
Area Committees during May 2024; and
1.2.3 Note that the Place Policy and Strategy,
along with comments and
feedback from Area Committees, will be
presented for
endorsement by the Community Planning
Partnership Board on 5
June 2024 and for approval by Full Council on
27 June 2024.
 
Decision Making Route
2.1 The development and implementation of a
place strategy that considers the current and future needs of
communities was agreed as a strategic priority
under the Council Plan 2022-27.
