Purpose

The reports outline the progress made
delivering the priorities and outcomes of the Tackling Poverty
& Inequalities Strategic Partnership Group, including the Local
Child Poverty Action Report which supports the Aberdeenshire Local
Outcomes Improvement Plan priority ‘Reducing
Poverty’.
These are draft reports which the Committee is asked to make
comments on prior to their approval at Communities Committee on the
6th June.
The Committee will also be asked for their views around the
Information & Advice framework which will inform the future
direction of these services.

Content

Committee agreed to acknowledge the progress
made in tackling the wide agenda and noted the Tackling Poverty and
Inequalities Annual Report.  They
provided the following comments:
 

·      
Recognised the importance of working with partners and that this is
data driven.

·      
Value of the lived experience is important.

·      
Cognisance of Mental Health in relation to poverty and hidden
poverty.

·      
ALDO training on ‘stigma’ and ‘worrying about
money’ links to be shared with Councillors.

·      
Briefing paper to be shared on rural transport and work of the
transformation group.
