Content

To support the draft Place Policy and Strategy
and provide the following comments:

1.    
Queried how communities who did not wish to undertake Local Place
Plans/Community Action Plans would be engaged with.

2.    
Highlighted importance of engagement with businesses.

3.    
Stressed the importance of meaningful community consultation -
doing ‘with’ rather than ‘to’
communities.

4.    
Welcomed the inclusion of Service leads alongside Area Manager
leads for each town.

5.    
There was a need for commitment to ensure that Place Plans and Area
Committee comments were taken into consideration constructively at
Policy and Full Council levels.

6.    
Climate change should be better defined and reflected within the
policy.

7.    
Need for more support for Community Councils developing Local Place
Plans/Community Action Plans.

8.    
Queried plan timescales and how these could be responsive to
societal changes.

9.    
Need to manage connection and alignment between Local Place
Plans/Community Action Plans and the Academy-level Place Plans.

10.Clarification to be
provided on liaison with Cairngorms National Park Authority.
