Purpose

This report will provide information on the
costs/benefits and resource requirements for continued membership
of the North Sea Commission/Conference of Peripheral Maritime
Regions. It will also advise Committee of the use of special
urgency powers for in-person Elected Member attendance to a North
Sea Commission Marine Resources Group.

Additional recommendation 1.2.4 -
4 agree that membership is continued for
2024-25 on the understanding that a full review is carried out, as
per 3.9.2, to develop the Council’s clear objectives,
identify the necessary resources for continued membership, confirm
that the work of the CPMR/NSC is effective in supporting the
achievement of these goals, and that the review is presented back
to ISC for determination before 2025-26 membership is
due.
