(1) Comments to the IJB as
follows:
Work
required as a matter of urgency to look at urgent care hubs/
provision;
Need
to make sure not relying on community hospital for support in
chronic conditions such as asthma
Welcome joint up working event NHS/AH&SCP on joint working and
governance;
Data
from Datix recording system on presentations at MIU to be shared,
subject to GDPR considerations; and
(2)
That in respect of the MIU closures that the IJB report back to the
Area Committee in early course, having considered the undernoted
comments:
Unclear where savings will actually be achieved and whether there
was consideration of alternative method of making savings;
Condemn the decision being taking without the required public
consultation;
Level
of communication with affected staff is unacceptable- there are
still uncertainties 13 days before expected implementation;
Discussions should have taken place with affected GPs prior to any
decision and this appears not to have been the case;
Fraserburgh still required staffing overnight to support Police
Scotland’s Custody Suite – so the staff saving will not
be achieved;
The
nature of Fraserburgh as a rural town, at a distance from the
nearest Accident & Emergency Unit in Aberdeen, with 24 hour
factories and harbour working, and a high level of deprivation, as
evidenced by SMID requires urgent reconsideration;
Public
reaction is unanimously against the closures;
Shaping Places for Wellbeing and Place Making was not considered as
part of the decision making;
Decisions on Urgent Care Hubs should have been concluded before any
decision on MIU closures.
