The Committee agreed the recommendations
within the report and made the following comments to Infrastructure
Services Committee:

a)
The work carried out to date was to be commended,

b)
Involving the community groups was very welcomed and it would be
helpful to feedback thanks to all the local volunteers who have
been involved,

c)
In terms of access from Balmedie to the Country Park, there was a
request for improvements for walking along the existing access
road, which goes past the entrance to Balmedie House, towards the
beach car park.  There was a desire for
more pedestrian priority, which led to the suggestion of an
additional path to the South, which is within the proposal. But it
would still he helpful to create markings to make the original
route safer for pedestrians,

d)
It would be helpful if an update could be provided to the Balmedie
Country Park Forum,

e)
Improvements to the Waterside Bridge footpaths was welcomed, albeit
disappointing it wasn’t the full length back to Newburgh,

f)
Coastal Communities Funding could be explored,

g)
Some publicity of the route might be helpful, as well as exploring
how many people use it,

h)
It was hoped that the paths would be used well to assist with
natural maintenance, and

i)
As regards the wider path network, it would be helpful to
understand how it progressed through the City Area.
