The Committee agreed the recommendations with
the report and made the following comments to the Officer Review
Group:

a)
It would be helpful to know who triggers a lease renewal –
was it the Council or the group?

b)
In terms of the new lease rolling programme, it would be helpful to
know if this would this be applicable for existing asset transfer
groups,

c)
It was interesting to note the differing public views,

d)
It would be helpful to know if the 6 Areas within Aberdeenshire
were dealing with Asset Transfers in a consistent manner, albeit
the feeling from some Members was that we need to be good at what
we do, not the same at what we do,

e)
While some Members questioned whether we need to consider whether
we can justify best value at £1 per annum, others felt that
this was appropriate within the legislation and in public
interests, and

f)
We need to ensure that there is an effective use of all assets,
realising the community’s part in that too.
