Purpose

Health Improvement Scotland are developing
standards for the care of older people living with frailty. The
ageing and frailty standards will be complemented by the national
healthcare standards. These are currently under development. The
national healthcare standards will cover key cross-cutting issues
in Scotland’s healthcare system, such as:
leadership
governance
complaints
adverse events

The consultation aims to provide an opportunity for wider
stakeholder feedback on the draft standards.
There are 11 standards within the draft which cover:
service design
identification and assessment
person-led care coordination and future care planning
support for staff and care partners
keeping active
nutrition and hydration
medicines management
living and dying well
care in hospital
delirium, dementia and cognition
mental health

The Partnership will engage with stakeholders through an online
survey and develop a response to the consultation based on the
feedback received.
