WBC Cabinet Member for Regeneration made the
following decisions:
1. Delegate
authority to the Director for Digital, Sustainability and Resources
to implement the tariff changes, set out in detail in the body of
this report:
2. To agree to the
proposed tariff changes in a number of Worthing Multi-Storey car
parks.
3. To agree to the
proposed tariff changes in a number of Worthing surface car
parks.
4. To agree to the
proposed season ticket tariff changes in the three Worthing
Multi-Storey car parks.
5. To agree to the
proposed season ticket tariff changes in a number of Worthing
surface car parks.
6. To make
consequential amendments to the Order arising from the
authorisations given in this report.
7. The funds will support the Council's
priorities.
The ADC Cabinet Member for Environment &
Leisure agreed to abstain from this decision.
Reasons for the decision
Following review and comparison with other
similar towns the charges are viewed to be reasonable. Also
comparison to other parking charges in the town by other
providers.
Alternative options considered
Not increasing the charges would mean that
essential services would be negatively impacted. Increasing them
further at this time could reduce visits to the town centre.
