To renew the
contract for corporate security services (Static Guarding, Mobile
Patrols and Event security) for a period of two years to AP
Security utilising the existing ESPO Procurement Framework to
ensure benchmarking and value for money and compliance with
Councils Standing Orders and to maintain service provision. The
value of the contract is £60,028.

Reasons for the decision

The provision of
security services from a professional contractor is key to the
operation of our core operational services and for the safety and
security of our staff and citizens and therefore having a contract
in place is essential.
 
To let a contract in accordance
with Council Standing Orders for the provision of professional
corporate security services that are used by all departments on an
ad hoc basis for static guarding, mobile patrols and event
security.

Alternative options considered

Other methods of
procurement have been considered although the Espo Framework carries most economic rates and the
contract sum has been assessed by the Council’s budget
management group.
