Reasons for the decision
ADC Cabinet Member for Housing and Citizen
Services
Due to a shortage of temporary accommodation,
the council frequently relies on the private sector to meet housing
needs. However, the cost of temporary housing places considerable
pressure on the council’s budget, making it essential to find
more cost-effective solutions. To address this, it is advisable for
the council to reduce reliance on spot-purchased accommodation and
instead establish a service level agreement with a provider that
can deliver better value for money.
