Content

To dispose of the site at 100 Kingston Lane to
Worthing Homes and grant a 250 year lease to Worthing Homes. The
lease follows Heads of Terms being agreed and secured via a
contract between Adur District Council and Worthing Homes, and has
been subject to a valuation report confirming best consideration
has been achieved by the Council.

Reasons for the decision

Working with a local Registered Provider
secures onsite affordable housing. Worthing Homes are committed to
high levels of sustainability, provision of accessible units and
securing in excess of 10% Biodiversity Net Gain. The council will
retain 100% nomination rights of initial lets and allocation rights
in perpetuity within this development. This supports households
with an identified housing need active on the council's housing
register.

Alternative options considered

Council development of the site was considered
to not be a viable option.

Disposal of the site to a private developer
was also considered but not progressed as it could lead to reduced
onsite affordable housing.
