WBC Cabinet Member for Resources: To
approve the award of a contract to the successful tenderer, Core
Electrical Ltd to undertake the Electrical Term Maintenance
Contract for the estimated annual sum of £289,802.20.
ADC Cabinet Member for Finance and
Resources: To approve the award of a contract to the successful
tenderer, Core Electrical Ltd to undertake the Electrical Term
Maintenance Contract for the estimated annual sum of
£289,802.20.
Reasons for the decision
WBC Cabinet Member for Resources: I am
satisfied that a thorough tendering exercise was carried out and
that the costs of the new contract will be within current
budgets.
ADC Cabinet Member for Finance and
Resources: The current arrangement ended on the 31st March 2024. Continuing
on the current individual quotation basis does not allow the
council to ensure best value. Following a vigorous detailed process
tenders were received from five contractors and were evaluated on a
60% quality and 40% cost basis.
Alternative options considered
WBC Cabinet Member for Resources: None.
I believe officers have followed the most appropriate route when
retendering for this contract.
ADC Cabinet Member for Finance and
Resources: This has been communicated internally between
Surveyors, Procurement, Legal and Finance. This is a retender of a
current contract for reactive maintenance repairs and Members have
been consulted.
