To amend the Allocations Policy as
follows:
Band A6 – To state: Severe housing needs for exceptional
circumstances, in crisis situations which warrant emergency
priority as agreed by the Housing Options Manager. This includes
Arun District tenants requiring rehousing where the property is
imminently required for essential works and the tenant cannot
remain in the property. The Council may override the Choice-Based
Lettings process to make a reasonable direct allocation of
suitable, alternative accommodation.
Band C8 – To add: Applicants who are homeless and qualify for
reasonable preference as per Part 6 of the Housing Act 1996 and the
Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and to whom no additional homeless
duties are owed. This also includes households who have been found
Intentionally Homeless or Not in Priority Need and to whom the
S189b Relief Duty has been discharged under Part 7 of the Housing
Act 1996.
