To accept the grant funding of £5,695.78
from the Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner for the period 1
April 2024 to 31 March 2025, to support the ongoing maintenance and
SIM costs of Arun District Council’s public-facing CCTV
system. The funding will be paid in a single instalment upon
receipt of a signed grant agreement.

Reasons for the decision

The grant funding supports Arun District
Council’s commitment to maintaining an effective CCTV system,
which contributes to community safety, crime prevention, and the
reduction of anti-social behaviour within the district. This aligns
with the Council’s strategic objectives related to community
well-being and public security.

Alternative options considered

Declining the grant – Rejected as this
would result in the Council bearing the full cost of maintenance
and SIM costs for the CCTV system, impacting budgets and
potentially reducing CCTV coverage.
Seeking alternative funding sources – Considered but not
pursued, as this grant provides immediate financial support without
requiring additional bidding or reallocation of existing
funds.
