Content
To formally approve the inclusion of Section
5.2 in the Housing Responsive Repairs Policy, introducing a new
category for Urgent Repairs with a response time of 5 working
days.
Reasons for the decision
Following the approval of the Housing
Responsive Repairs Policy by the Housing & Wellbeing Committee
in June 2025, it was identified that the 5-day urgent repairs
category had been inadvertently omitted. This category is essential
for addressing repairs that, while not emergencies, require a
quicker response than routine repairs due to health and safety
risks or potential escalation. The addition ensures clarity,
consistency, and improved service delivery.
Alternative options considered
Option to leave the policy unchanged was
rejected due to the risk of confusion and service gaps.
Option to include urgent repairs within routine repairs was
rejected as it would not meet service expectations or health and
safety standards.
