To authorise Legal Services to undertake all
necessary legal functions and services in connection with redeeming
the existing discount charge on the property at xx Cobham Close,
Yapton, originally granted under the Right to Buy scheme, and to
collect any monies due in accordance with the discount provisions
of the Housing Act 1985.

Reasons for the decision

The property was previously sold under the
Right to Buy scheme and is now subject to a discount repayment
condition. The Council is required to recover any applicable
discount repayment in accordance with statutory provisions when a
qualifying disposal occurs within the discount repayment
period.

Alternative options considered

No alternative options were considered, as the
Council is legally obligated to enforce the discount repayment
provisions under the Housing Act 1985.
