To award the contract for roof replacement
works, including fascia, soffits, guttering, and downpipes, at xx,
xx, xx, xx, xx, xx & xx Collyer Avenue to D Adams and Sons for
the sum of £112,440.00, subject to satisfactory contract
terms. Legal Services is authorised to apply the Council
seal.

Reasons for the decision

The roofs at the specified properties have
reached the end of their serviceable life and are beyond repair. A
competitive tender process was conducted, and D Adams and Sons
submitted the most economically advantageous tender based on price
and previous performance. The works are necessary to meet the
Council’s obligations to maintain its housing stock in good
condition.

Alternative options considered

Other contractors were invited to tender. Five
tenders were received and evaluated. D Adams and Sons was selected
based on best value and competency. No viable alternative to roof
replacement was identified due to the condition of the existing
roofs.
