Content

To award the above project to SQW, for the
value of £33,875 with an optional addition of £3,000
for an alternative ‘Dashboard’ should that be
considered appropriate. The cost will be split three ways.
Arun’s maximum commitment is £12,292.

Reasons for the decision

The Economic Strategies for all three Councils
have either recently expired or are nearing expiry. With Local
Government Reorganisation expected to take place during the
lifespan of the new strategies, it was considered appropriate to
commission this work as a joint project to ensure alignment across
all three authorities – should that be necessary following
the LGR boundary decision. Six consultancy firms were invited to
submit proposals, and four responses were received. Following a
rigorous evaluation and scoring process, SQW was selected to
undertake the work.

Alternative options considered

Do nothing and allow Arun’s strategy to
expire – this was not considered an appropriate option as the
Economic Development Strategy supports the long-term prosperity,
resilience, and inclusivity of Arun’s local
economy.
