Approval granted to award the contract for
roof replacement works, including fascia, soffits, guttering, and
downpipes, at xxx & xxx Collyer Avenue to NJS Roofing Ltd for
the sum of £43,474.00, subject to satisfactory contract
terms.

Legal Services are authorised to apply the Council seal.

The contract will be let under the JCT Minor Works (2024)
contract.

Reasons for the decision

The roofs of the properties have reached the
end of their serviceable life, with poor repointing and
deteriorating decoration.

The Council has a duty under the Tenancy Agreement to maintain its
housing stock in good condition.

The selected contractor offered the best combination of price and
quality, and is capable of undertaking the additional works.

Alternative options considered

Five tenders were received and
evaluated.
Other contractors were invited to tender but did not respond.

Given the condition of the roofs, repair was not a viable
alternative to replacement.
