To approve the updated Damp & Mould Policy
under delegated authority granted by the Housing & Wellbeing
Committee at the time of original policy adoption. The update
reflects legislative changes introduced by Awaab’s Law,
incorporates recommendations from an independent review of damp and
mould case management, and aligns operational procedures with
Civica CX task paths.

Reasons for the decision

The update ensures compliance with new
statutory requirements under Awaab’s Law, strengthens the
Council’s approach to managing damp and mould in line with
best practice, and improves operational efficiency through
integration with Civica CX. It also responds to findings from an
independent review, enhancing resident safety, service standards,
and accountability.
