Approval to award the contract for roof
replacement works (including fascia, soffits, guttering, and
downpipes) at Gosden Road to M&J Group (Construction &
Roofing) Ltd for the sum of £38,127.50, subject to
satisfactory contract terms. Legal Services is authorised to apply
the Council seal.

Reasons for the decision

To meet the Council’s obligations to
tenants and leaseholders by maintaining housing assets in good
repair. The roofs are beyond repair and require full replacement.
M&J Group provided the best combination of price and quality
based on the tender evaluation.

Alternative options considered

Other contractors submitted tenders, but
M&J Group offered the most competitive and competent proposal.
Repair was not viable due to the condition of the roofs.
