To appoint and place an order with Landbuild
to carry out the resurfacing works required to both Lyon Street Car
Park, Lyon Street, Bognor Regis & River Road Car Park, River
Road, Arundel.

Reasons for the decision

These works were procured by direct tendering
on the basis of lowest cost and on receipt of the tenders this was
found to be most cost effective to appoint Landbuild to carry out
the works.

Tenders
3 contractors were invited to tender and 2 tender submissions were
returned. The submissions are competitive market tenders

Landbuild’s tender has been checked and is a valid tender and
the most economically advantageous. The works are being funded from
existing Asset management budgets.

Alternative options considered

1. Do nothing. This option was rejected as the
car park surfaces are in need of resurfacing as they are currently
showing signs of deterioration which if left unchecked will lead to
unacceptable safety risks.

2. Do not accept any of the three tenders. This option was rejected
as the competitive tenders received for these works demonstrate the
level of pricing that could be expected from re-tendering.
