Content

To appoint and place an order with Hawke
Property Services Ltd to carry out the resurfacing works required
to the footpath in the north-west corner of Marine Park
Gardens.

Reasons for the decision

These works were procured by direct tendering
and on receipt of the tenders this was found to be most cost
effective to appoint Hawke Property Services Ltd to carry out the
works.

Tenders
3 contractors were invited to tender and 2 tender submissions were
returned. The submissions are competitive market tenders.

Hawke Property Services Ltd - £7,236.00 +VAT
Onebuild Sussex Limited
Ashburner Construction Ltd – Tender not returned

Hawke Property Services Ltd tender has been checked and is a valid
tender.

As there is insufficient budget within 25/26 the works will be
carried out early in the new financial year but prior to Green Flag
Award judging for Parks which takes place in April/May this
year.

Alternative options considered

1. Do nothing. This option was rejected as the
path is in poor condition and works are required to maintain a high
standard of appearance of these areas for the forthcoming summer
season.

2. Do not accept either of the two tenders. This option was
rejected as the quotes received are competitive tenders for these
works and demonstrate the level of pricing that could be expected
from re-tendering.
