Purpose

To
agree the 2025/26 General Fund Budget and MTFP

It was
RESOLVED: -
 
1.1         
That the General Fund revenue and capital budget
for 2025/26 and MTFP set out in the report be endorsed for
recommendation to Council on 27 February
2025.
 
1.2         
That the General Fund Budget for 2025/26 is based
on no increase for the Band D Council Tax of
£175.03.
 
1.3         
That the new income bands and contribution rates
for the 100% Local Council Tax Reduction (Working Age) Scheme, as
set out in paragraph 8.15, are endorsed for recommendation to
Council on 27 February 2025.
 
1.4         
That the Council Tax Support Discretionary Policy
for 2025/26 attached in Appendix J, are endorsed for recommendation
to Council on 27 February 2025.
 
REASON FOR DECISION
To bring together all the relevant information to
enable Cabinet Members to review, consider and comment upon the
Council’s General Fund budget for endorsement and
recommendation to Council.
 
Alternative Options Considered and
Rejected:
Setting a balanced budget is a statutory
requirement, therefore no other options are appropriate in respect
of this.
