Purpose

The Cabinet will be asked to approve the terms of a new 30-year lease relating to the Travelodge site in Yew Tree Avenue, Dagenham.

Decision

Cabinet resolved to:

(i)  Approve the entering into of a new 30-year lease with Travelodge for the land at Yewtree Avenue, Dagenham, as shown edged red in Appendix 1 to the report, on the terms set out in Appendix 2 to the report;

(ii)  Authorise the Strategic Director of Resources, on the advice of the Strategic Regeneration Panel, to complete the necessary negotiations, applications and legal documentation related to the proposal; and 

(iii)  Delegate authority to the Director of Law and Governance to execute all the legal agreements, contracts, and other documents on behalf of the Council in order to implement the arrangements.
