Purpose

The Cabinet will be presented with an update on the implementation of the Council’s Housing Strategy 2026-2031 and asked to approve the addition of the Planning and Delivery Group to the governance arrangements for delivery of the Strategy.

Decision

Cabinet resolved to:

(i)  Note the progress made in implementing the Housing Strategy 2026-2031 and its Action Plan;

(ii)  Approve the updated Housing Strategy Action Plan for 2026/27 at Appendix 1 to the report, which included the additional actions and work identified since the Strategy and Action Plan were approved by Full Council in February 2026;

(iii)  Approve the revised internal governance arrangements for the delivery of the Housing Strategy, including the revised arrangements for the Housing Strategy Delivery Board and the establishment of the Planning and Delivery Group, as detailed in Appendix 2 to the report; and

(iv)  Approve the updated Resident Engagement Framework at Appendix 3 to the report, which brought together the Housing Strategy and landlord-function engagement arrangements.
