Decision

RESOLVED
that Cabinet:-
 

1.   
Delegates authority to the Executive Director for
Growth & Sustainability in consultation with the Executive
Director for Core Services to enter into a partnership agreement
with South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority to receive
£1.705m Trailblazer funding for a 12-month period from April
2025 to address economic inactivity; and
 

2.   
Delegates authority to the Executive Director for
Growth & Sustainability in consultation with the Executive
Director for Core Services to enter into a partnership agreement
with South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority to receive the
£2.000m Connect to Work grant from April 2025 for 3 years.
This would support existing services and projects under
‘Pathways to Work’; and
 

3.   
Delegates authority to the Executive Director for
Growth & Sustainability in consultation with the Director of
Finance (Section 151 Officer) to negotiate with SYMCA and the
government on behalf of the council to secure the remaining 3 years
of the funding; and
 

4.   
Notes that the Council does not commit to any
long-term contracts without putting adequate measures in place
(e.g. break clauses) until future funding is clarified. Where this
is not possible then the council commits to reviewing and
reprioritising funding and budgets to meet any future commitments
post the National Settlement Review.
