Decision

RESOLVED
that Cabinet:-
 
(i)           
Approves the procurement of twenty-eight replacement
fleet assets. The vehicle leases expire during this fiscal year and
due to long lead times, the service needs to begin procurement in
advance of the new Fleet Strategy which will be presented
separately later this year;

 
(ii)         
Approves the revised costs related to the
procurement of eight Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCV), carried over
from the previously approved 2024/25 Vehicle Replacement Programme
(VRP);
 
(iii)        
Note the inclusion of nine replacement fleet assets
in this interim VRP that are already ordered and were previously
approved as part of the 2024/25 VRP. Delivery is anticipated during
this fiscal year, therefore has a 2025/26 financial impact and
included for completeness;
 
(iv)        
Note that all additional revenue costs will be
managed within existing approved Fleet resources based on current
projections in 2025/26. Total additional capital investment of this
report is c£4.090M over 2025/26 and 2026/27. Due to the sale
and lease back arrangement the council currently has in place, all
the capital costs are net nil. Future years will be assessed as
part of the upcoming Fleet Strategy; and
 
(v)         
Note, a full revised Fleet Strategy will be
presented to Cabinet later in 2025.
