Purpose

To seek Cabinet’s
approval to develop a universal offer, including targeted
intervention, enabling children and young people in the Borough to
learn, develop and thrive both inside school and beyond.

Decision

RESOLVED
that Cabinet:-
 

1.   
Endorses the concept and purpose of the ‘Great
Childhoods Ambition’ to develop the vision, brand and
strategy in preparation for its launch in April 2025;
and
 

2.   
Approves the use of one-off earmarked reserves of
£600,000 to fund the ‘Great Childhood Ambition’
pilot and delegates responsibility for the expenditure to the
Executive Director (Children’s Services); and
 

3.   
Approves a further £1.0M from earmarked
reserves to fund the enhanced Maths and English GCSE Programme and
the ‘Every Child A Coder Digital Skills Programme, with
release of this funding being subject to further details on such
programmes being provided.
