Purpose

To seek endorsement of
Berneslai Homes’ Complaints Policy which has been revised to
reflect legislative and regulatory changes and aligns to the
Housing Ombudsman Complaint Handling Code. Under the new policy,
the BMBC Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture has lead
responsibility for governance of, and assurance that, the complaint
policy and practice align to the Housing Ombudsman Code.

Decision

RESOLVED
that Cabinet:-
 

1.   
Endorse the Berneslai Homes’ Complaints Policy
which had been revised to reflect legislative and regulatory
changes and aligned to the Housing Ombudsman Complaint Handling
Code; and
 

2.   
Appoints the Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and
Culture in their role as Member responsible for Complaints under
the requirements of the Code. The Terms of Reference are attached
at Appendix 3; and
 

3.   
Supports the content and outcome of the
self-assessment against the HOS Code, to be endorsed by the
Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Culture in their role as
Member responsible for Complaints (under the Housing
Ombudsman).
