About

The Cabinet is responsible for making the day-to-day decisions associated with implementing the Council's agreed budget and policy framework. The Cabinet is made up of the Leader of the Council, who is appointed at the annual full council, and seven other councillors which are appointed by the Leader. These are known as Cabinet Members and each looks after an individual area of responsibility known as a portfolio. Both the Cabinet, and individual Cabinet Members, make decisions on how our policies and services are delivered within those areas. The Cabinet is also referred to as the executive, and they often consider recommendations and comments from the councils supporting committees to inform their decisions.
