The Community, Environment and
Partnerships Committee is responsible for holding decision-makers to account for
improving outcomes and services relating to the environment, the
community and the councils partners. They are equally tasked with
supporting the work of the Cabinet and Council, and providing
alternative recommendations for service delivery and improvement
where necessary. The committee, who set their
own work programme, are able to conduct in-depth analysis of policy
issues by questioning expert speakers and Cabinet Members, and
conducting their own research. This committee is also the
Council’s Crime and Disorder Committee, in accordance with
the Police and Justice Act 2006, with responsibility for
scrutinising crime and disorder and community safety
matters.
