Purpose
To approve terms to take a surrender of the
AA’s existing lease.
Decision
Delegate authority to the Executive Director
of Corporate Services and Assets (S151 Officer) to accept a
surrender of the AA’s lease at Fanum House subject to the
following conditions being met:

That the AA contributes a sum in cash or in lieu of, by undertaking
works to strip out tower and podium and refurbish the existing car
park, as set out in the Heads of Terms.

That the AA enter into an agreement for lease for the newly
refurbished office space at the office building called Plant in
Basing View or such other premises in Basingstoke as are agreed by
the Council.
·
That the AA take a lease of 10 years plus duration of 250 spaces at
Fanum House car park or, in the event of redevelopment of Fanum
House, of such other car park as the Council shall specify in
Basing View.
Delegate authority to the Executive Director
of Corporate Services & Assets (S151 Officer) in consultation
with the Director of Regeneration to take the steps necessary to
prepare Fanum House for redevelopment and to take the appropriate
action to generate revenue from car parking pending
redevelopment.
