Purpose

To deliver a grant allocation to a Bath and North East Somerset, in house, Foster Carer. To enable home alterations, directly enabling the continuity of the current placement, allowing the child to remain within their community, close to school, friends and family networks. This reduces the likelihood of an unnecessary placement move, supports positive outcomes for children and young people, and avoids the financial and emotional strain associated with placing children outside the area or in high-cost residential settings.

To fully approve £6,109 of capital budget, fully funded by Service Supported Borrowing

To do nothing. This was not considered an option due to the social and financial benefits of proceeding with this decision.
