Decision

Admission
to the Council’s Pension Scheme be agreed for Purgo Supply
Services Ltd, in respect of Leigh Academy Trust and Cleantec
Services Ltd  staff employed in cleaning
duties who have been transferred to Purgo Supply Services Ltd under
the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of
Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) as amended.
Subject to the conditions of the Local
Government Pension Scheme, the continued participation in and
membership of the Council's Pension Scheme be approved for those
members of staff employed by Leigh Academy Trust and Cleantec
Services Ltd at 1 August 2023 transferring to Purgo Supply Services
Ltd.
The admission be subject to the
contractor:-

i)                
paying to the Council the
employees’ contributions;

ii)               
paying to the Council the
employer’s contributions as determined by the Fund
Actuary;

iii)              
accepting the financial
consequences arising from exercising scheme discretions;

iv)             
being covered by an indemnity,
bond or guarantee as appropriate; and

v)              
entering into a closed
Admission Agreement with the pension fund where the contractor will
not be permitted to admit new members.
The Deputy
Director of Legal and Democratic Services be authorised to complete
the necessary agreements
